D1037  Western Empress. Built at Crewe, August 1962. First shed allocation Plymouth Laira. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn May 1976 after 1,336,000 miles service, due to derailment damage.

D1038  Western Sovereign. Built at Crewe, September 1962. First shed allocation Plymouth Laira. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn October 1973 after 1,072,000 miles service, due to underframe damage.

D1039  Western King. Built at Crewe, September 1962. First shed allocation Plymouth Laira. June 1964 shed allocation Newton Abbot. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn July 1973 after 1,024,000 miles service, due to a lack of engines.

D1040  Western Queen. Built at Crewe, September 1962. First shed allocation Old Oak Common. Involved in a collision with a freight train at Knowle & Dorridge station, 15th August 1963. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn February 1976 after 1,248,000 miles service.

D1041  Western Prince. Built at Crewe, October 1962. First shed allocation Old Oak Common. Transferred to Cardiff Canton, March 1963 before returning to Old Oak Common, September 1963. Moved to Bristol Bath Road, January 1964 then transferred to Swansea Landore, April 1968. Final shed allocation Plymouth Laira, November 1968. Withdrawn 23 February 1977 after 1,384,000 miles service, due to 'B' dynostart burnt out. Bought privately in May 1977 by Mr. D. Edleston, for use on the East Lancs Railway. Attended the Crewe Annual Works Open Day, 24 July 1987.

D1044  Western Duchess. Built at Crewe, November 1962. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn February 1975 after 1,208,000 miles service, due to collision damage.

D1045  Western Viscount. Built at Crewe, November 1962. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn December 1974 after 1,192,000 miles service, due to electrical wiring condition.

D1046  Western Marquis. Built at Crewe, December 1962. First shed allocation Bristol Bath Road. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn December 1975 after 1,248,000 miles service, due to collision with D1064 Western Regent.

D1047  Western Lord. Built at Crewe, February 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn February 1976 after 1,256,000 miles service.

D1048  Western Lady. Built at Crewe, December 1962. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton before moving to Bristol Bath Road in the same month, then returning to Cardiff Canton, January 1963. Transferred to Newton Abbot, September 1964 then moved to her final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, June 1965. Last passenger working was on the "Western Lament" tour, 24 February 1977. Withdrawn 28 February 1977 after 1,368,000 miles service, one of 4 'Western' locomotives withdrawn on the last day of Western Region diesel - hydraulic service. Purchased privately by Mr. D. Rigby and moved to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Worked the "Western Recall" tour in March 1979. Bought by the D1048 Western Lady Ltd and stored at Steamport. Re-sold to a Plymouth based group for use on the Plym Valley Railway. Moved to the Railway Age at Crewe.

D1049  Western Monarch. Built at Crewe, December 1962. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn April 1976 after 1,288,000 miles service, due to engine and transmission defects.

D1050  Western Ruler. Built at Crewe, January 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn April 1975 after 1,176,000 miles service, due to a lack of engines.

D1051  Western Ambassador. Built at Crewe, January 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton before moving to Old Oak Common, September 1963. Transferred to its final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, January 1964. Withdrawn September 1976 due to major electrical faults after 1,328,000 miles service.

D1052  Western Viceroy. Built at Crewe, February 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn October 1975 after 1,224,000 miles service, due to 'A' end collision damage.

D1053  Western Patriarch. Built at Crewe, February 1963. First shed allocation Old Oak Common. Moved to Cardiff Canton, March 1963 before returning to Old Oak Common, October 1963. Transferred to Bristol Bath Road, January 1964 before moving to its final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, May 1969. Withdrawn November 1976 due to engine defects after 1,304,000 miles service.

D1054  Western Governor. Built at Crewe, March 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Transferred to Swansea Landore, April 1964 before moving to its final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, April 1966. Withdrawn November 1976 due to worn tyres on 'B' end bogie, after 1,336,000 miles service.

D1055  Western Advocate. Built at Crewe, March 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Swansea Landore. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn after 1,200,000 miles service, due to a collision at Worcester Shrub Hill station, 3rd January 1976.

D1056  Western Sultan. Built at Crewe, March 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Transferred to Swansea Landore, March 1964 before moving to its final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, April 1966. Withdrawn December 1976 due to engine defects, after 1,352,000 miles service.

Withdrawn August 1974 after 1,096,000 miles service, due to a lack of engines. Bought by the Western Locomotive Association after storage at Swindon for two years. Restored at Swindon Works and moved to the Torbay Steam Railway. Due to lack of space and servicing difficulties, moved again to the Severn Valley Railway.

D1063  Western Monitor. Built at Crewe, May 1963. First shed allocation Old Oak Common. June 1964 shed allocation Swansea Landore. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn April 1976 after 1,184,000 miles service.

D1064  Western Regent. Built at Crewe, May 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Swansea Landore. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn December 1975 after 1,216,000 miles service, due to a collision with D1046 Western Marquis.

D1070  Western Gauntlet. Built at Crewe, October 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. Transferred to Swansea Landore, March 1964 before moving to Plymouth Laira, April 1966. Returned to Swansea Landore, February 1969 before returning back to Plymouth Laira, May 1971. Withdrawn December 1976 due to 'B' end collision damage, after 1,312,000 miles service.

D1071  Western Renown. Built at Crewe, November 1963. First shed allocation Old Oak Common before moving to Newton Abbot, April 1964. Transferred to Bristol Bath Road, June 1964 then moved to Swansea Landore, April 1968. Transferred to Plymouth Laira, August 1968 before returning to Swansea Landore, October 1969. Revisited Plymouth Laira, March 1970 then returned to Swansea Landore in the following month. Returned to its final shed allocation of Plymouth Laira, June 1970. Withdrawn December 1976 due to a siezed 'B' end final drive, after 1,232,000 miles service.

D1072  Western Glory. Built at Crewe, November 1963. First shed allocation Old Oak Common then moved to Plymouth Laira, January 1966. Transferred to Bristol Bath Road, June 1969 before finally returning to Plymouth Laira in October 1971. Withdrawn November 1976 after 1,280,000 miles service.
