GWR Locomotive Lot Numbers

    Great Western lot numbers were effectively order numbers that were issued by Swindon Drawing Office. To install a little confusion though, identical lot numbers were given for locomotives, tenders, coaches and goods wagons. This page deals solely with lot numbers for GWR locomotives.

The link below downloads a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet detailing every lot number issued from 1855 to both Swindon and Wolverhampton Works, until 1961 when BR issued their own order number.
